Minoans’ art (with its bright colors, fluid lines, and active, buoyant figures) bears affinity with the cultures of the Phoenicians. Minoans were not an exclusively a sea going people but an agrarian one as well. Trade was highly economic mainstay for the Minoans. Minoan culture was deeply enriched in sailing and trading and the credit has been bestowed to the environment of little to no apparent conflict. A cache of weapons found in the palace of Knossos, a labyrinth structure of connected rooms and halls, indicates that Minoans had little exposure to fighting. Minoan art does not contain any images of armed conflict. Minoan society puts women in the higher status while the men engaged in the manual labor or out at sea. The worship was directed towards female goddesses. Bull-jumping activity is another characteristic of Minoan culture.
